Kinzan Shusseki-ji Temple

Location:1 Toyoshige-otsu, Ozu, Ehime, Japan

Shusseki-ji Temple is located on the hill of 812 meter above sea level at the border between Yawatahama and Nagahama (Ozu city). It was named by Kobo Daishi, the Buddhist monk who founded the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage. A boundless view of islands of Setonaikai Inland Sea and mountain shadows of Kyushu and Chugoku regions can be seen from the top of the mountain. A sea of clouds at dawn makes us feel as if we’d wondered into another world.
