Meiji-bashi across over Senjo River, the oldest arch-shaped concrete bridge used today, was recognized as a civil engineering work heritage by Japan Society of Civil Engineers in 2010. Chuhachi Ninomiya, a local aviation pioneer, flew kites at the foot of the bridge and sold them to assist family finances.
